About the wines of Tokaj


The world-famous historical wine region of Tokaj is a World Heritage Site since 2002. Tokaj wine is often mentioned as ’the king of wines, and the wine of kings’. It is truly amongst the most outstanding first class Hungarian wines and used to be an essential accessory of many Hungarian kings’ table. The unique climate, the volcanic soil, the special cellars and the experience dating back to centuries together result in this special wine, the Tokaj wine.

TOKAJI LATE HARVEST

Late harvest Furmint, sweet white wine with Protected Designation of Origin. Wine specialty made of withered, partially shriveled grapes from the sunny slopes of the wine region of Tokaj. Has straw yellow color, delicate aromas and flavor with characteristic botrytis. The residual sugar and fine acid provide complex tasting experience. Recommended to be consumed at 10-12 °C with desserts, meat made with fruits or even in itself.

Sweet white wine with Protected Designation of Origin. Has light golden color, its smell comes from the over-ripening grapes and the use of oak barrels.
