About the wines of Eger

The Hungarian wine region of Eger is located on the southern slopes of mountain Bükk, dating back to a thousand year of grape and wine culture. Eger and the 19 ’wine villages’ around it are protected by the mountains of the area, resulting in a dry, excellent microclimate, providing a perfect home for the authentic wines of Eger. Nearly one-third of the area gives perfect soil for viniculture, so wine making is just as dominant in the life of the people living there, as wines from Eger should dominate in the culinary habits of demanding consumers.
As the saying goes, Eger is the bastion of wines, the city of grape and wine.
